Our theme for our time together will be Return to the Self. We will bask in the tropical paradise and healing energy of the island to reconnect with our inner selves and remind us of our interconnected nature to all living things. You will leave this retreat more healthy, empowered, and in touch with your path and purpose. In addition to daily asana practices to physically challenge and invigorate practitioners of all levels, evening sessions will also include elements of yin and restorative yoga, meditation, journaling, and discussion to move deeper into our innermost desires and gain clarity for how to manifest them.

There will be a variety of yoga to choose from throughout the week, including vigorous guided vinyasa flow practices, focused therapeutic yoga sessions with detailed instruction, and more relaxed sessions focusing on a particular theme, such as inversions or balance postures. Surya Kembar Villas sits along the Titibatu River, situated on sacred lands in Kandangan, Mas, Ubud, Bali. The Villas are custom designed featuring recycled wood, natural stone, and vertical orchid gardens with private swimming pools and a yoga studio, making it a magical place to reflect, rejuvenate, and heal.

Fresh and delicious brunch and most dinners are provided daily, mostly on-site at the Villas, with both vegetarian/vegan and fish or meat options. Meals feature authentic Balinese cuisine prepared by Surya Kembar’s gourmet cooks, who will do their best to meet special dietary needs. Also included are two group dinners at some of the excellent restaurants in town.

Relax, reflect and renew on your own terms, within your own budget.

Please do not feel pressure to do it all. You may participate in as many or as few sessions as you wish. This is your retreat---make it what you need it to be for you, no one else. It's important you allow yourself the time and space you need to relax and renew in body, mind, and spirit. Go at your own pace. Honor your inner nudges and whispers, letting them guide you toward an appropriate level of activity, striking a healthy balance between community time and your own personal time.

The retreat fee includes a massage and a few group activities, but there are a number of other things you can do or not do depending on your budget and interests.

Besides our yoga, there are many activities available for an additional fee, including:

  • Sunrise volcano hike
  • Massages and spa services (mani/pedis, facials, cream baths for your hair)
  • Excursions to various cultural sites
  • Music, dance, puppet making and mask making lessons
  • Beach trips, rafting, hiking, biking,
  • Workshops and yoga classes at the esteemed Bali Spirit Yoga Barn
  • Museums, galleries, shops
  • Cooking classes and lessons in the Balinese art of making offerings
  • Much more!

In addition to being surrounded by lush nature and rice paddies, Hindu temples and shrines, Ubud is a cultural hub for a thriving art scene. Bali, an island situated in Indonesia, is the only Hindu island in what is an otherwise Muslim nation. Ubud has become somewhat of a yoga Mecca with world-renowned yoga studios and some of the best raw food and vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the world.

- Search a Range of Dates and departure locations for best airfares.

-When searching for the best airfare, consider arriving a day or two before and/or returning a day or two after the retreat. There can sometimes be a considerable difference in fares with a one- or two-day shift on either side of your itinerary.

- Extra Nights at the Villas:

If rooms are available, extra nights at the Villas before and/or after the retreat can be booked for as little as $70 per person for double occupancy or $120 for a single. In many cases, the savings in airfare realized from a one- or two-day shift in your itinerary can more than make up for any extra lodging costs.

- When to Book Your Flight:

Now is the time! If you see a good fare, book it.

Meghan has been teaching yoga in a number of styles and in a number of locations for over 10 years. Four of those years were spent teaching in Bali, Indonesia, at the esteemed Bali Spirit Yoga Barn.  Meghan teaches a number of different styles and has done a number of yoga trainings including vinyasa yoga 200RYT; Tantric (energetic) Yoga at Agama Yoga, Thailand (150 hrs); alignment and assisting supplemental training (50hrs); and a number of Thai massage and acro yoga trainings. Her deep connection to music, amplified by the many years she spent living and studying the yogic, spiritual lifestyle of the Balinese, has led Meghan to develop a teaching style focused on subtlety, breath, patience, and healing, giving her students what they need wherever they are at, and guiding them to emerge refreshed, invigorated, and stronger in both mind and body. Meghan is fluent in the Indonesian national language (Bahasa Indonesia) and has proficiency in Balinese, which makes her well-positioned to offer students a unique opportunity to engage with Balinese culture and connect with the indigenous people.
